Film permit fees - Cardiff Film Office

You will need a filming permit for all commercial filming in a street or council owned space. You should allow 5 working days for a permit to be granted. Last minute applications will incur an admin fee of £250 plus VAT, plus the permit fee.

Cardiff Council owned land includes:

Public spaces

Cardiff Castle,
City Hall,
Cardiff Market,
City centre,
Central Square,
Libraries,
All parks in Cardiff,
Roald Dahl Plass and land in Cardiff Bay (contact us for more information)
Thornhill Creamtorium and Cardiff cemeteries,
Cardiff Barrage and Motocross track,
Channel View Leisure Centre, and
The Star Leisure Centre.

Council housing estates

Coed Y Gores in Llanedeyrn,
Hollybush Estate in Whitchurch,
Lydstep Flats in Gabalfa,
Loudoun House in Butetown, and
Channel View in Grangetown.

Charity	Commissioned projects may be subject to fee. Please contact the office.
Student	No fee

If you give less than 48 hours’ notice for cancellation, you will be charged the full rate.

If you give more than 48 hours’ notice for cancellation, you will be charged 50% of the full rate once you have received your permit.
