We can only grant drone permits to commercial drone operators.
To fly a drone on Cardiff Council land, please apply for a film permit and tick the aerial filming or drone box.
There is an additional charge of £250, and you must give at least one week’s notice.
Before applying for a permit, you will need:
- drone operator’s Civil Aviation Authority certificate
- drone insurance,
- Public Liability Insurance, and
- a detailed risk assessment with maps that clearly show take-off, flight path, and landing.
We will not consider incomplete applications.
We will only consider last minute drone applications if you have submitted the correct paperwork. This will cost £500.
This also applies to Cardiff based companies, who will be charged £250 for last minute drone applications.
