The Wenallt; a well-known local beauty spot and an area of semi natural ancient woodland to the north of Cardiff, designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The land extends into other woodlands to the north west:
- Cwm Nofydd (a local nature reserve),
- Fforest Ganol (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and,
- Fforest Fawr.
